Having over 35 years of experience as a gynecologist, Dr Giakoumakis studied in the Medical department of the University of Athens, specializing in Obstetrics / Gynecology. He completed his internship at the hospital 'Krankenhaus Holweide' in Koln, Germany, and his specialty in the University Hospital Alexandra in Athens. He took the position of head of the gynecological department in the General Hospital of Chania and continued his career as Director of the Gynecological department at a private hospital in his hometown, Chania. Just in 1992 he made his dream come true! by founding the Mediterranean Institute of Fertility and since then he helped hundreds of couples and singles, to achieve their own dream of holding their baby! His personal pursuit does not stop here. Some years after, he pushed his limits and help the patients with the surrogacy program from 2005 that the law in Greece permit it. Wanting to constantly develop his knowledge in the field of assisted reproduction, actively participates in conferences around the world every year. Also he is a active member of several organizations, and as a high light, founder member of: European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), member of: American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Mediterranean Society of Reproductive Medicine (MSRM , Middle East Fertility Society (MEFS) and he was Honorary president of the Medical Society of Crete.

Mr. Fragkoulidis is an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist with a specialization infinding and fighting female as well as male infertility and in all contemporary methods of assisted reproduction. He specialized in the Reproductive Medicine in the fertility center “London Fertility Centre”, with Professor Ian Craft, where he was responsible for numerous important successes in the field of human assisted reproduction. He took an interest in the immune system disorders, the recurrent implantation failures, as well as the recurrent pregnancy miscarriages. He was in charge of the clinical management of at least 2,000 in vitro fertilization cycles annually with patients from all over the world and exclusively women who were subjected to fertility treatments. Moreover, he worked in the “Royal Free University Hospital” in London, where he specialized in the application of endoscopic surgery (Laparoscopy-Hysteroscopy) for the diagnosis and treatment of various gynecological conditions. He returns to Greece in order to deal with the special element of gynaecology, obstetrics and the treatment of infertile couples. In 2015 he joins the, well-known recognized clinic, Mediterranean Fertility Institute and the treatment of tough fertility problems becomes his personal mission and goal. He considers his duty to grow a feeling of trust, through an adequate update of couples on infertility issues, developing a warm, personal and human communication with them. Each couple will feel and know a personalized approach, therapy, care and psychological support during their attempt.

Mr. Dafnis has been a clinical embryologist for more than 10 years. He studied Biology and Biochemistry at the Metropolitan University of London and Masters in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine at UCL, London. He continued his postgraduate studies and completed his PhD at UCL studying chromosomal abnormalities and genetic diseases in human embryos. He entered the field of embryology and completed his certification acquiring the ACE diploma of embryology. He began his career in London Fertility Centre under Ian Craft and has worked in various fertility centers since, marking a rising course. He helped found the British-Syrian IVF center and especially the organization of the laboratory. Recently he established the Aegean IVF center in Tirana. Since 2010 he has been working in the Mediterranean Fertility Center in Chania as a scientific director actively helping the center acquire certifications and the prestige it deserves. Mr. Dafnis has published scientific studies in reputable journals and participates regularly in conferences as a speaker.

After supporting his PhD Thesis in 1988, in the study of the mechanisms which control the normal function of the male reproductive system, Dr Argyriou had the opportunity to work in the large field of the infertility in human as a Senior Clinical Embryologist, by showing a high respect for the dignity of the couples and aiming to the realization of their dream to have a healthy child. We are sure that the result of this collaboration either at the human level or at the scientific one, will offer the possibility to the couples with different problems of infertility, to use the accumulative knowledge and the experience of our team, and to us, to try to become better in order to find the best solutions for the couples in their try to feel the warm feeling of being parents…

She studied at the Department of Biological Applications and Technologies, at the University of Ioannina. She continued her studies attending the graduate program 'Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine' at the University of London (UCL). There she initiated her dissertation on the Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) at UCL Centre for PGD of the Institute for Women's Health of the UCL. Since 2013 she is working as embryologist in the center and a member of the National Association of Clinical Embryologists (ΠEKE) as the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). Her training is completed by seminars and training courses aimed at development of laboratory in vitro methods.

She studied at the Biology Department of the University of Crete, in Heraklion. As part of her studies she received a scholarship to the University of Salford, in Manchester. Then she continued her postgraduate studies in the field of Reproductive and Regenerative Medicine at the Medical School of Athens. She has been working in the center as an embryologist since 2014. At the same time, due to personal interest to provide high quality services, assumed responsibility for the certification of the center with ISO 9001: 2008, ISO 9001: 2015 and EN DIN 15224: 2012. Worthy of owning her role as the head of quality, ensures the best benefit level for customers. Also, in the context of continuous training she participates in conferences and is a member of the National Association of Clinical Embryologists (ΠEKE) as well as the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE.

Having successfully completed his studies at the Higher Technological Educational Institute of Patras in Business Planning and Information Systems Department, he proceeded with the practice of exercise as Sales/Catering Manager for ANEK shipping company's fleet. Trying to further develop, his knowledge at the field of Marketing and Management, he has attended several seminars and was able to work with large corporations such as hospitals (OLYMPION LTD), furniture (BO CONCEPT LTD), clothing (H&M) and mobile (VODAFONE LTD) trading companies. He belongs to the team of the center since 2015 and as he always having in mind progress and development, he has assumed the administration and advertising department of the center.

She studied in England and later with the participation in bioethics and PR seminars, has managed to become an active member of the center since 2009. As Head of the surrogacy program group, she daily leverages her knowledge and skill for the smooth flow of this rugged effort of our clients. She informs daily the ordering parents and surrogate mother for the steps to be followed to achieve the program and is there to answer any questions and hesitation. She has participated in international conferences on surrogacy alongside Dr. G. Giakoumakis and now considers herself a "fighter" of hope for every person who wants to hold their child in their arms.

Being Dutch and having dealt with fertility issues herself in the past, has chosen to live in Chania and work in the Mediterranean Fertility Institute. She coordinates all the Dutch and english-speaking patients through the different fertility programs. Thanks to her previous working experience dealing with overseas customers for travel arrangements as a tour operator, Shirley facilitates every procedure for couples supporting them with great compassion and professionalism as well as find their way to our centre and sample Cretan hospitality. Shirley is gifted with great compassion and care towards couples due to her personal experiences in this field.

The excellent knowledge of the Italian language led her to study in Bari Italy in the Section of Biological Sciences, in the direction of pathology. Completing the course of study, she returned to Chania in 2010 and began working at the center as an assistant embryologist. The culture and love for Italy, coupled with the experience gained in the field of in vitro and led her the way very fast. Thus in 2013, she began as responsible of IVF for Italian customers of the center. With professionalism and consistency programs she is next to each couple, giving valuable advice and instructions.

Efi Fotopoulou has received her diploma on Marketing and Public Relations from a private school in Athens. She has worked with Dr Ioannis Giakoumakis since the institute's foundation over 25 years ago. Over this period she has gained the valuable experience that is needed in order to guide and support any couple that is considering to go through an IVF journey. She is the administrator for client care services as well as supporting Dr Giakoumakis during his scientific conferences. Efi has recently participated in conferences in Australia(Sydney), United States of America,USA (Los Angeles), United Kingdom (London & Manchester), The Netherlands(Amsterdam) and in Turkey(Istanbul)

Having graduated from the Higher Education Technological Institute in Larissa at the Accounting department, she has been by Dr. Giakoumakis for over 15 years. Performing the duties of secretarial help, she has been guiding women through all the bureaucracy of insurance funds but also in the drug prescriptions. With professionalism and smile, she welcomes all guests of the center in the waiting area, and maintains the plan and the daily program, driven by the proper function of the center.
